Chapter 149: New Zombie New Tricks
Chapter 149: New Zombie New Tricks Turning around, I studied the room I had found myself in.
It really wasn’t that bad if you look at it. I mean, the walls were a bit dark and cold, but when the heat hit you that hard, you wanted a cold place to sleep at night. There was a thin cot on one side of the room with an even thinner blanket and something that might resemble a pillow at one end.
On the other side of the room was a ’working’ toilet... well, a bucket and a compost under it, but it was still better than Camp Hell. At least I didn’t have to clean it out myself.
Spinning around, I stretched my arms out as far as they could go. I still had plenty of space left, and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.
Flicking my wrist, I put the cot into Teddy and took out the much bigger bed that I had taken from Liu Haoyu’s house. The white sheets and large comforter was a stark contrast to the rest of the room, but if I was spending the next seven days in this place, I was damn well going to be comfortable.
Cracking my neck from side to side, I
I saw a second head poke into my room, and I waved at him. "Hi!" I smiled at them. "Wanna play?"
The second man merely snorted, while the first one cocked his head to the side as he caught a glimpse of my dress. "You’re too young to be wearing that," grunted the first. "Your parents should have beaten you growing up, and maybe you wouldn’t be dressed like that."
The smile on my face completely disappeared as the guard in front of me jumped onto that landmine called Père. "I was beaten growing up," I replied to him, my face completely blank. "Which is probably why I dress like this."
There was a loud scream behind him as four zombies jumped on the team who had stopped by to say hi. I watched expressionlessly as one female latched onto the guard’s neck, the scarf covering the lower half of his face meaningless against her bite.
Clamping down on the flesh, she pulled back like a dog with fresh meat. The first guard roared in pain as he tried to fire his gun into the zombie’s stomach. However, the zombie had managed to rip out a section of his artery, and blood was spraying everywhere.
Realizing what was happening, the guard looked at me with wide eyes as if he was expecting me to step in and save him. He reached forward, his glove hand frantically trying to grab me, but the zombie only pulled him backward even more.
Gripping the doorframe with both hands, the guard let out a bellow of rage. "Why!" he demanded, his bloodshot eyes staring at me as if wondering why I wasn’t helping him.
"Maybe if I had been beaten a bit more, I would be more inclined to help," I replied to him. Giving a good yank, the zombie managed to get the guard down to the ground as another zombie started to dine on his flesh.
"Close the door behind you when you are done," I called out, and the female zombie lifted her head and stared at me. It was almost funny watching her work out what I had said, but finally, she stumbled to her feet and pulled to door shut before going back to her meal.
Huh, I guess you can teach a new zombie new tricks.
