Chapter 162: One Teeny Tiny Thing

Chapter 162: One Teeny Tiny Thing

Chapter 162: One Teeny Tiny Thing Doctor Beau Landry froze the second the girl in front of him finally turned her attention to him. It was like he had been struck by lightning and plunged into a lake of ice all at the same time.

He wanted to take out the gun carefully hidden in his lab coat and shoot both the Governor and the woman curled up on the floor for simply breathing the same air as the girl on the couch.

Even with the tails of blood flowing down both sides of her face, she was the most mesmerizing creature he had ever seen. She wasn’t a typical beauty, and he had seen a lot of those, but there was something about her that seemed to simply suck him in and refused to let him go.

Honestly, Beau had no idea how old she was. She looked young, that was for sure, be he knew that wasn’t always the best way to judge her age. But whether she was legal or not, he simply couldn’t let her go.

Wait until she was good and ready for him? 100%. He would much rather slit his own throat than harm her in any way. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t be by her side, protecting her until then.

He was the first one to admit that he had a problem. Ever since he was a kid, he did everything to excess. He studied to excess, played to excess, ate to excess, and drank to excess. After he got into medical school, he worked to excess, saved money to excess, spent money to excess, and even fucked to excess.

But no matter what he did, it was never enough. No matter how many women he fucked, he was never satisfied. No matter the meal, he was never full. No matter how much bourbon he drank, he was never drunk.

It wasn’t until he looked into the eyes of this girl that he saw everything he had spent the past 28 years

Interesting. The man was a walking dead man, and he didn’t even know it yet.

"Come on, let’s get you cleaned up," continued Beau as he rose from his crouch position and held out a hand.

The girl jumped off the couch and then swayed slightly as if she was about to faint. Holding her forehead, she let out a distressed whimper as she fell into his arms.

"She might have a concussion," announced Beau, sweeping her up in his arms. "I’ll bring her over to my place since I have the proper supplies. I’ll be keeping her overnight for observation."

"Not a chance in Hell," chuckled the Governor as he clamped his hand hard on Beau’s shoulder. But that was the problem with the old timers... they never seemed to realize when they were no longer the biggest dog in the yard. "She stays within my eyesight at all times. Take her to her room, and you can bring your stuff back here."

Beau looked down at the tiny woman in his arms and forced down the rage. He needed to keep his cool until it was the right time. He could do this. It might be his first time with this type of desire to protect and cherish, but he knew how to bide his time until he could get what he wanted.

"You know, if you are not strong enough to keep her safe all by yourself," purred a voice in his head. For a second, there was a pain so blinding that it nearly sent him to his knees, but he forced himself to stand strong. He couldn’t drop his prize.

"No, you really don’t want to drop her. How about this? I can give you the strength, knowledge, and power to keep her safe from every threat imaginable. You just have to do one teeny tiny thing."
